How to get recruited to play football
East High School Football Players interested in playing collegiate football
Completion of Senior season:
Step 1: Let Coach Webb know of your intentions to play in college. Sign Transcript Release form in main office. (This allows Coach Webb to release your transcript to colleges. This is the first thing they ask for when recruiting an athlete.)
Step 2: Examine NCAA and/or NAIA websites to determine eligibility requirements, grades, ACT scores, core class requirements. These change yearly by the NCAA and/or NAIA. Your guidance counselor can help you with this. They will have the most up-to-date information.
Step 3: Finalize Hudl Hi-Lite video
Step 4: Contact recruiting coordinator of colleges and send your Hudl Hi-Lite video.
Step 5: If an offer is made, examine with family and Coach Webb.
Completion of Junior season:
Step 1: Let Coach Webb know of your intentions to play in college. Sign Transcript Release form in main office. (This allows Coach Webb to release your transcript to colleges. This is the first thing they ask for when recruiting an athlete.)
Step 2: Take the ACT
Step 3: Create an account via the NCAA clearinghouse.
Step 4: Create Hudl Hi-Lite video
Step 5: Contact recruiting coordinator of colleges and send your Hudl Hi-Lite video.
Step 6: Sit down with Coach Webb or Coach Taylor and organize summer camp schedule to attend. Attend camps of schools that you are interested in.
Completion of Sophomore season:
Step 1: Let Coach Webb know of your intentions to play in college.
Step 2: Study for ACT and consider take College Prep and Readiness.
Step 3: Begin to create your Hudl Hi-Lite video.
Step 4: Sit down with Coach Webb or Coach Taylor and organize summer camp schedule to attend. Attend camps of schools that you are interested in.
Completion of Freshman season:
Step 1: Let Coach Webb know of your intentions to play in college.
Step 2: Sit down with Coach Webb or Coach Taylor and organize summer camp schedule to attend. Attend camps of schools that you are interested in.
Step 3: Maintain a 2.75 GPA or higher in all required core classes throughout your high school career.
